Shoulder Pain

Here are some answers to most common questions we get at our Wake Forest Chiropractic practice.

What Causes Shoulder Pain?

Arm pain and shoulder pain may be the result of an injury but can also occur by muscle strains, muscle tears, tendinitis, or simply overuse.

Can It Be Something Serious?

Pain that is on-going or disrupts your normal activities, needs to be checked out.  Your condition may be temporary, or it may be the result of one of these conditions:

  • Shoulder Bursae
  • Rotator Cuff Injury
  • Dislocated Shoulder
  • Strains & Sprains
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Tendinitis

How Can A Chiropractor Help?

Yes.  In addition to spinal adjustments, chiropractors may recommend spinal decompression, posture corrections, and other non-invasive treatments.  Some people get relief quickly.  Others may need a series of treatments.

What Can I Expect On My First Visit?

The first time you visit a chiropractor, the doctor will need to do an evaluation, which may include X-Rays.  After the evaluation, they will develop a plan of treatment that may include a variety of approaches depending on the severity and duration of your condition.

Will I Need Surgery?

Surgery may be needed, but it’s prudent to explore non-surgical options. Dr. Adam Rabinowitz and Dr. Kelly Porter will work directly with you to develop a treatment plan.

What Is Applied Kinesiology?

Applied Kinesiology is both a diagnostic and treatment technique that test muscles to determine whether your body is functioning correctly.
